Lighting

When camping you will undoubtedly need some form of lighting and we have a vast range of head torches, torches and lanterns to help you see what you're doing once the sun has set.

Things to consider when buying any kind of torch or lantern is how bright you need it to be. Light brightness is measured in lumens and a lantern with a 70 lumen output would create a soft glow but would not cast light very far. With higher outputs of around 300 lumens the light cast would be brighter and would illuminate larger areas. One thing to remember with higher output lights is that as it takes more power to create the extra brightness the battery life is often reduced if on full power continuously. To counter this many brands feature different modes offering varies light outputs and saves battery life.

Most, if not all our torches and lanterns feature LED's, not bulbs, which should never need replacing and we also have a great range of gas lanterns that can be attached directly to gas cartridges.

Head Torches

Head torches are great addition to any camping trip. They are completely hands free and because they are firmly attached to your head they illuminate precisely where you are looking. Light outputs vary and some feature different spreads of beam and even the option of red light which is less disruptive if making a midnight dash to the onsite facilities.

Torches

Standard torches are tremendously versatile being lightweight and handheld and generally offer stronger beams than head torches. All our torches feature LED's which offer far greater battery life, brightness and extremely long life.
